Welcome to the training: Lifting machines – Overhead Crane
The overhead crane is probably the most widespread lifting machine. They are found in all different areas of work – everything from industry and manufacturing to construction, transport and shipping. There are many variants, but nevertheless they are all based on the same basic design. During the course you will get to know the machine, its design and operation, all so that you can achieve good safety in your future professional role.
Travers is originally a French word meaning “across the room”
The training is available in two formats, digital or teacher-led in a classroom. Regardless of whether you do it digitally or in a classroom, you will also have access to the book Travers – The Method/Machinery and Safe Lifting and Load Handling. It will be sent to you or you will receive it in the classroom.
Below you will find the basic structure for this part of your education.
Instructions for the platform:
When you have read each chapter, click on “I have read / completed the assignment”. When all chapters are complete, click on “Back to PART” then “Back to training”. Continue to the next PART.
The last step is “Final exam” and there you click on “Start exam”
You will then come to the end of this course where you will find, in PART 5 / chapter 25, a selection of educational films that show successful and less successful ways of handling lifts and cranes.
